What You Will Do with Wediko

You’ll be assigned a Wediko therapist who will meet with you during school.  It’s up to you what you’ll talk about with the therapist.  Some students have worries that they want to talk over with
a therapist, like:

  • Why is it so hard for me to make and keep friends?
  • When I’m sitting in class, I space out because I’m thinking about what happened at home last night.
  • Being in school is okay, but I’m feeling scared to walk in my neighborhood because of the violence there.
  • I wish my mom would let me stay out late at night.  Why doesn’t she trust me?
  • I feel sad and tired almost all the time.  Will I ever feel happy?

Other students may not want to talk things over with a therapist, but they do have goals that they can’t seem to reach, like:

  • I want to get out of this school and back to my regular high school.
  • I want to play sports after school, but I got kicked off the team by the coach.
  • I’d like a part-time job, but I don’t know where to look.
  • I want my dad to spend more time with me, but I don’t know how to tell him that.

Therapists want to help students achieve their goals and to feel good about themselves.  The Wediko therapists will work with you to find solutions to problems and ideas for getting what you want.  They will help work with your family and your school to make plans for your success.
