What We Do

Wediko responds to the needs of children who face repeated obstacles to development due to social, behavioral, environmental, and learning issues.

Wediko School

The School & Treatment program is a year-round residence for 38 boys.  Most are between the ages of 11 and 18, and the program is licensed for boys 6 to 21.  Multidisciplinary teams develop individual treatment plans, provide structured group-building experiences, and focus on strengths.  A commitment to returning students to their home and community is central to the therapeutic program.

Wediko Summer

The Summer Program is a 45-day therapeutic residence that offers academic instruction, experiential education, group therapy, and family therapy to 150 boys and girls age 6 to 18.  The nearly 1:1 staff to student ratio creates opportunities for therapeutic intervention "in the moment" and around the clock.  The daily schedule of activities, school, and group therapy allow all children to identify their own strengths and areas of vulnerability.

School-Based Services

Wediko consultants work together with school staff, families, and other professionals to assess needs and develop a strategy for action.  Consultants offer a full menu of services that address the needs of the whole school, the individual student, or targeted groups of students (e.g., students who disrupt learning, students who find it difficult to make friends, or students who want to avoid unstructured activities).  School-based service delivery ensures that the consultant understands the context in which challenging behavior occurs.
